Terms & Conditions

PLEASE READ THIS PAGE CAREFULLY BEFORE CONTACTING ME ABOUT COMMISSIONS.
(I promise it's not as scary as it looks!)

Last updated: August 25, 2024

For each commission type, you (the commissioner) must agree to adhere to the following terms:

All Commission Types:

  • Payments are only accepted in USD via PayPal (unless we've discussed otherwise).

  • Full payment is due upfront once your project is completed. Payments must be made within five days of your project's completion. Feel free to ask me about payment plans.

  • I will not draw or craft anything that contains extreme violence/gore, profanity, drug use/reference, hate speech, or sexually explicit content. Simple nudity is fine, but it must be tasteful and not sexual in nature, and the character(s) depicted must be consenting adults. Mildly suggestive themes are a "maybe", as long as it's nothing above a PG-13 rating.

  • I reserve the right to reject your commission request if I do not feel comfortable making it, or if it is beyond my skill level/ability.

  • Any character I draw/craft must be your own character, or you must have explicit permission from the character's creator to commission me for any work involving that character (proof of permission may be required). I cannot legally draw or craft a copyrighted character for profit without explicit permission from the character's creator, sorry!

  • If you need your project completed by a certain date, please let me know. Art commissions typically take 1-3 days to complete, while larger projects (such as fursuits) can take a few months, depending on the size and complexity. The time it takes for me to complete your commission may be longer if it is particularly complex, or if I have a backlog. Please take this into account before submitting your commission request! I promise that I will try my hardest to meet your deadline, but remember that the earlier you submit your request, the sooner I can have it ready for you.

  • By commissioning me, you are giving me the right to use photos of the work I have created for you as examples and for promotional purposes. Proper credit will be given to the owner(s) of each character, but the work I create for you is my own and can be used however I see fit.

  • I will keep in touch with you throughout the commission process and provide periodic updates and pictures. Feel free to contact me at any time if you would like an update, or if you have any questions or concerns regarding your commission. I can be reached via email at b.skog@yahoo.com (this is the best way to get in touch with me).

Art Commissions

  • I will send you a preliminary sketch of your art piece for approval before finishing it. Once you have received this sketch and are happy with it, I require half of the total payment to be made before I continue working on your commission. The rest can be paid once you have received the finished piece and are satisfied with it.

  • When I finish your art, I will first give you a watermarked version of the finished piece. To receive the unwatermarked version, you will first need to pay all applicable fees, then I will send the unwatermarked version to you once I have received full payment.

  • Unless I am designing a character for you, reference images are required. I might be able to work with descriptions if they are highly detailed and well explained, but visual examples make things much easier and will ultimately save us both time. A colored, full-body reference is preferred, but I may be willing to accept a bust or half-body reference if you are only commissioning a bust or half-body drawing of your character.

Fursuits, Costume Parts, and Other Crafts

  • I require a down payment before I begin working on your project.  This is roughly whatever the estimated cost of materials for your project amounts to (typically in the $30-$100 range for partial fursuits, depending on how complex you want your costume to be; fullbody fursuits may be slightly more, and individual costume parts & other crafts will usually be much less).

  • A full-body, color reference image of your character is required for any type of costume/craft commission. The only exceptions are in cases where you want me to design a character for you, or if you are just commissioning something like animal ear headbands or other single costume parts, in which case, I would only need a color reference for those specific parts. All fursuit commissions MUST have a full-body, color reference, even if it is only for a partial fursuit.

  • If you decide to cancel your commission, please let me know ASAP. Down payments will only be refunded if I have not yet begun working on your project; otherwise, I keep the down payment in order to offset the costs of materials.

  • I DO NOT accept fursuit trades, sorry.

  • If you find a defect with your product after receiving it (i.e. faulty stitching, improper fitting, etc), please send me a message describing the problem in as much detail as you can, preferably with pictures. If it is determined to be a manufacturing error on my part that can be amended, just send the product back to me, and I will fix it free of charge. I will also take care of shipping costs both ways.

If your commission is being shipped to you:

  • All applicable fees must be paid before I can ship your project.

  • You must be at least 18 years or older to have your project shipped to you. If you are under 18, I will need to talk to your parent(s) or a guardian and get their approval before I can begin working on your project. Proof of age may be required.

  • Please note that, for most projects, I am unable to provide accurate shipping cost estimates until after your project is completed. Shipping costs will vary depending on the size and weight of your project, as well as your location. Please allow room on top of your main project budget for shipping.

  • As of this time, I am only comfortable shipping within the USA. I am willing to try international shipping if need be, but it will be done at your own risk, and you will be responsible for any additional costs that come from being overseas.

  • IMPORTANT ALLERGEN INFORMATION: I have one pet cat. While every project is thoroughly cleaned before shipping, I cannot guarantee that everything will be 100% free of all pet hairs, although the amount of stray hairs (if any) will be very small. Additionally, I live in the American West, where smoke from wildfires may sometimes come into contact with some of the materials that I use (such as foam, faux fur, etc). If you are severely allergic to cats, or extremely sensitive to even light amounts of smoke, then I might not be the best person for you to commission. On a similar note: If you are allergic to certain types of materials, please let me know before I begin working on your project!

Please bear in mind that the above text may be subject to change at any time without warning. Be sure to refer back to this page each time you commission. I understand that every project is unique, so I may be willing to allow some leeway with some of these terms depending on your project needs.

Thank you for reading! I appreciate your consideration in hiring me for your project, and I look forward to working with you. :)
